Youth Programs

At Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, we hope to offer something for everyone. That is true for our youth groups as well. We think it is important to start youth group at a young age as it will help connect kids and teens with each other in interactive and engaging ways outside of the classroom. Fairmount Temple is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism and NFTY (the Reform Jewish youth movement) and not only participates in temple events but also Cleveland wide youth group events and regionally in areas of New York, Pennsylvania, Toronto and Ottawa. Our Anshe Chesed Temple Youth (ACTY) programming offers a variety of social, leadership, educational, and social action programs.

Junior ACTY (Grades 6-8)

Junior ACTY is Fairmount Temple’s 6-8 grade junior youth group. Advised by Staci Cohen, Junior ACTY has fun and interactive programs for students to help build a stronger Jewish community outside of the synagogue walls.

ACTY: Anshe Chesed Temple Youth (9-12 Grade)

ACTY is Fairmount Temple’s Youth Group for students in grades 9-12. ACTY consists of an elected board of students in the following positions: President, Programming VP, Social Action VP, Religious and Cultural VP, Membership VP, Communications VP, and Financial VP. These students meet once a month to plan programs and services for the teens at Fairmount Temple. Programs range from strictly social to social action, High Holy Day Services, shul-ins, etc. This youth group is advised by Staci Cohen, Director of the Upper School. ACTY typically has one program a month but also joins in with other local Reform synagogues for programming as well as community wide Jewish programming for teens. Each year ACTY plans and runs the temple Purim Carnival that is their biggest fundraiser each year.
