PLEASE NOTE – OUR FRIDAY, MARCH 15, SHABBAT SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT THE TEMPLE-TIFERETH ISRAEL (26000 Shaker Blvd., Beachwood), in person and live-streamed at this link.  It will begin at 6 pm and include clergy from both temples to mark the historic merger agreement between Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple and The Temple-Tifereth Israel.  Services will return to Fairmount Temple on March 22.

 

Our in-person Shabbat Evening Services are being held at Fairmount Temple in both the Hilda Bogomolny Faigin Activity Center and the Bonda Chapel.  Services are also  live-streamed here and on our YouTube Channel.

Wednesday Morning Learning, 9:15 am, via Zoom
Rabbi Joshua Caruso is leading a series, Midrash and the Rabbinic Imagination, through the end of March, (9:15 am). How can midrash — sometimes seemingly outlandish stories – provide us with an enhanced understanding of biblical texts? To register, Fairmount Temple members can email AdultEd@fairmounttemple.org.

PURIM:
Saturday, March 16, 11 am, Simchat Shabbat for families with Little Ones – Dress your young children/grandchildren (0-5) in costume and celebrate with singing, dancing and silliness!  To be sure to have enough snacks and supplies, RSVPs required to EKleckner@fairmounttemple.org by March 14.
Sunday, March 17, Religious School Celebration!  Our students and their families will celebrate their own Purim with a special student-focused PurimSpiel, food and fun. Religious School families will receive specific details.
Saturday, March 23, 7 pm, 2nd Annual Purim Pub and Trivia Night 2024 – This was such a popular event last year, let’s get silly and do it again! First, we will celebrate Purim with an awesome 21+ pub-style trivia night. We will provide the quizmaster and refreshments – you bring your phone, your friends, and your vast collection of useless knowledge. Costumes and general merriment is highly encouraged! Free babysitting offered, but must RSVP by March 20 using form below.
7 pm – Havdalah and Megillah Reading in the Bonda Chapel. We wonder what our clergy will dress up as this year?  Last year, they rocked it as the Beatles!

OTHER PROGRAMS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Havdalah and Song Session – Saturday, March 16, 6 pm – We have been enjoying a positive reception to our recent Havdalah gatherings, and we hope you’ll join us on March 16. Cantor Vladimir Lapin will be joined by other song leaders to draw us together to end Shabbat and look toward the week that follows with hope, optimism and blessing. This Havdalah will also be live-streamed here.

Women of FT Annual Cantor Sarah Sager Evening, Tuesday, April 2, 7 pm
This year’s annual celebration of Cantor Sager will feature Bill Rudman, Director of the Musical Theater Project, who will share a presentation, Jewish Songwriters United: The Impact of the Immigrant Experience. Reservations for the program with hors d’oeuvres and dessert must be prepaid by March 25. UPCOMING CARING COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES

Strengthen Our Relationship with MACE Islamic Center, Thursday, March 28, 2-5 pm. Volunteers will sort and pack food at the MACE Islamic Center food pantry in Richmond Heights. This opportunity supports our Muslim neighbors in combatting hunger, as many of the Islamic Center’s member volunteers are participating at that time in daily fasts and prayer obligations of the sacred holiday of Ramadan and may be unable to physically fulfill these tasks while fasting.

Support Jewish Families in Need To Prepare for Passover,
Sunday, April 7,  10-11:30 am.
Volunteers are needed to pack up Passover food and supplies at the Cleveland Chesed Center, a joint project of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

Spread Joy with Flowers, Friday, May 10, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Join Temple volunteers at BigHearted Blooms, 5122 St. Clair Ave., to repurpose discarded flowers from weddings or stores into new arrangements that will be delivered to people in hospitals or nursing homes.

PASSOVER
Special Passover Adult Study followed by an abbreviated ritual for the first morning of Passover, Tuesday, April 23, 9:15 am  – Join Rabbi Caruso on Zoom for this special morning of adult study, The Fours of the Passover Seder. After the study session, we will continue with abbreviated morning prayers for the first day of Passover, including the recitation of Hallel prayers of gratitude. Yizkor Memorial Service for the Conclusion of Passover, Sunday, April 28 6:15 pm in the Bonda Chapel, led by Rabbi Nosanchuk and Cantor Lapin – This intimate in-person gathering for the conclusion of Passover allows us to draw upon memories of people in our families and communities whose lives have been a blessing to us. Join us in the Bonda Chapel for Yizkor Memorial prayers and special liturgical readings for the conclusion of Passover. This Service will also be live-streamed here. 

BUILDING COMMUNITY – 
Fertility Support Group –
Recognizing that infertility is a difficult journey for many, this monthly Fertility Journey Support Group is an opportunity for those experiencing fertility challenges to feel support and strength from each other. Bayit Circle: Establishing a Jewish Home in Community – Have you wondered what it means to create a Jewish home? Join together with other folks establishing Jewish homes to learn more about what it means to reflect your Jewish identity at home, from physical markers like a mezuzah to rituals marking Jewish moments and beyond. This circle is great for people who are single, moving in together, engaged or married, and/or in interfaith relationships.
