Members of Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple are part of a vibrant and caring Jewish community.

We offer a synagogue where you can grow spiritually and intellectually, enrich your Jewish identity, and engage in meaningful acts of social justice.   You can share holidays and joyous occasions, and count on our caring community for support in times of need – all while making lifelong friends. Our clergy and leadership welcome your ideas, involvement, and seek out opportunities to address you and your family in meaningful ways. Come join us at Anshe Chesed!

Benefits of Membership at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple include:

  • The privilege of pastoral care, including the counsel and support of our clergy for lifecycle events (B’nai Mitzvah, Confirmation, Weddings, etc.) and in times of difficulty and bereavement.
  • Complimentary tickets for High Holy Day worship services
  • Eligibility for burial privileges in our beautiful Mayfield Cemetery
  • Eligibility for enrollment of your children in our religious school
  • Discount at our preschool
  • Subscription to our monthly newsletter, Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple Bulletin and to our periodic email blasts
  • Free advertising in the Business Directory (Click here for directory, last updated at 2016)
  • Opportunities to travel in our programs for adults, families and individuals guided by our clergy in Israel, in Cuba and other sites.
  • Opportunities to personally raise your voice for social justice, in our Fairmount Temple efforts within the Greater Cleveland Congregations, the multi-faith coalition our synagogue has founded to improve life in Cleveland, in matters such as education, health care, criminal justice, and sustainable food.
  • Opportunities to make a difference in the lives of fellow temple members by participating in our many Caring Community projects.
  • Membership in the Union for Reform Judaism, the national organization of the Reform Movement, giving each member a subscription to URJ’s quarterly magazine, discounted tuition to URJ Camps and NFTY youth programs, educational programs and leadership opportunities for adults.
  • The privilege of studying with our clergy in weekly Torah study groups, and in other learning opportunities in which we explore a variety of fascinating topics.
  • A broad array of worship, educational, cultural and social opportunities for members of all ages. Our members of every age and background can expect to learn with depth,  find inspiration through worship, and join in an inclusive community devoted to chesed (“kindness”) within and beyond our walls.

Each summer, Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple hosts a social and informational event to help prospective and new members meet temple leaders, tour our facility and begin to make connections. Continued opportunities are planned during holiday celebrations (Shabbat, Simchat Torah, Purim, etc.) to help new members build connections to others in our synagogue and experience what we have to offer.

Our intention is to build an enduring connection with you and your family, and to help you make membership at Anshe Chesed a meaningful and lasting part of your lives. If you have questions about how we might help you become part of the synagogue, or to make your time in our synagogue more enriching, please be in touch with us.   Please contact our Executive Director, Steve Borstein: (216) 464-1330 or sborstein@fairmounttemple.org.
