NEW COURSE FOCUSES ON FOSTERING CIVIL DISCOURSE

Join Rabbi Muhlbaum for a Zoom-based adult education offering, Mahloket Matters. a course focused on fostering civil discourse. This class explores interpretations of ancient & contemporary Jewish texts, whose diversity can empower us to engage in more constructive disagreements.
Rabbi Muhlbaum’s course is based on the Jewish principle of “constructive disagreement for the sake of heaven” (machloket l’sheim shamayim). This is a critical value for our temple members to examine during a time we’ve come to realize has included an unprecedented breakdown in civil discourse that permeates our Jewish community. Can Judaism help us come to terms with seemingly irreconcilable differences and views? Especially in approaching upcoming elections in 2023 and 2024, these issues carry a special relevance. Join us on Zoom beginning Oct. 4!
