YOUNG PEOPLE CONGREGATION (YPC)

The YPC-Family Programming Committee is focused on providing families with meaningful social and religious opportunities centered around the ideals of the temple.  We strive to create a warm and caring community where everybody feels welcome.  We offer events for singles and young married couples, as well as for families with children ranging from preschool to Bar and Bat Mitzvah age.  Not every event will be appropriate for all ages, but over the course of the year, hopefully we will have several events that are appropriate for each and every family

YPC Offers So Much - Come Join in the Fun and Community:

KIDushat Shabbat

The first Friday of every month at 7:15  p.m.

An interactive, shorter service is especially inviting for families with preschool age children and grandchildren. There are songs, birthday blessings, and a short story.  This service, which is followed by an oneg, lasts about 30 minutes.

Shabbat Unplugged - Join us several times a year for a casual, camp-style, lay-led service at 7 p.m.  Dates for this upcoming 2011/2012 year are: Fridays, Oct. 28, Dec. 23, Feb. 24, April 27 and June 29. All Shabbat Unplugged services begin at 7 p.m. in the Hilda Bogomolny Faigin Activity Center. All are welcome - come relive your summer camp experience!

Family Programs, including sponsoring a Fall Family Fun Day at  Patterson's Farm, Camping Trips for Dad and Kids (twice a year - outside in the summer; inside in the winter), Winter Havdalah, and Moms and Kids Night Out. and other fun events for you and your children!

Young Adult Chavurah - for singles and couples in their 20s and 30s, a chance to meet new friends and celebrate Judaism together.

Social Action - Winter Toy Wrap - a yearly mitzvah in which we gather to wrap holiday presents for children-in-need.
