Fairmount Temple's Young People's Congregation (YPC) is an active and vital
group of young
adults, in their twenties and thirties. We
are singles, couples, and young families.
YPC strives to enrich the study, understanding and practice of liberal
Judaism in an atmosphere of friendship and fellowship to assist all members in
leading a meaningful Jewish life. Whether you attend a family social event, attend any of the variety of worship
services, or volunteer to help the needy through social action
opportunities, YPC offers everyone a chance to get involved. YPC programs appeal
to a variety of interests, giving everyone an opportunity to become involved.
YPC Offers So Much - Come Join in the Fun and Community:
KIDushat Shabbat
The
first Friday of every month at 7 p.m.
An
interactive, shorter service is especially inviting for families with preschool
age children and grandchildren. There are songs, birthday blessings, and a short
story. This service, which is followed by an oneg, lasts about 30
minutes.
Family Programs,
including sponsoring a Fall Family Fun Day at Patterson's Farm, Camping
Trips for Dad and Kids (twice a year - outside in the summer; inside in the
winter), Winter Havdalah and other fun events for you and your young
children!
Young Adult Chavurah -
for singles and couples in their 20s and 30s, a chance to meet new friends and
celebrate Judaism together.
Social
Action - Winter Toy Wrap - a yearly mitzvah in which we gather to wrap
holiday presents for children-in-need.
