Genesis tells the stories of our patriarchs and matriarchs, but have you noticed they might not be the role models we would expect them to be? Have you noticed that there are two creation stories and two flood stories?  Sunday, Feb. 12, 10 a.m., Dr. Michael Roizen, Cleveland Clinic Physician and co-founder of RealAge.com. Award-winning author of the bestsellers, the Real Age Makeover books and the YOU series, Dr. Roizen is the chief wellness officer at The Cleveland Clinic.  Bagels/coffee available at 9:30 a.m.

Sunday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m., Fairmount Temple’s own Nate Arnold giving a virtual tour of Old Jewish Cleveland. Nate knows his stuff - spend a morning learning more about Cleveland and about Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple. Bagels/coffee available at 9:30 a.m.

Sunday, April 15, 5 p.m., Brotherhood’s Sports Night will feature The Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Terry Pluto. In addition to being a sportswriter at the paper, he writes a bi-weekly Faith column. Twice been honored by the Associated Press Sports Editors as the nation's top sports columnist for medium-sized newspapers, he is a nine-time winner of the Ohio Sports Writer of the Year Award. $10/adult (children 12 and under free) and includes pizza dinner and prizes.  RSVP to Debbie Lazarus at 216-447-9530.

Dads and Kids Indoor Campout, March 3-4

This annual indoor campout will be begin on Saturday, March 3 (through Sunday for those “roughing it”).  There will be games, food and lots of fun - all organized by our “dear ‘old’ dads!”  It’s great - we camp inside, but play outside  (weather permitting) and sleep in tents in Weinberg Hall. Come have fun!

JOIN THE FUN OF PURIM AT FAIRMOUNT TEMPLE!!    

 PurimSpiel for Grown-Ups:  Occupy Shushan! March 7, 7:30 p.m.

When Mordecai's on edge and Esther's on the spot, who's on first?  Purim Spiel for Grown-Ups, that's who!  Join us on Wednesday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. for a musical spiel. Ditch groggers for political parody followed by heaps of hamantaschen.  Some material may be unsuitable for pre-Confirmands.  Questions?  Want to be in the spiel? Megillah Reading and PurimSpiel  and the carnival

10:30 a.m. Megillah Reading and PurimSpiel - Elvis goes GA GA for the Ladies of Rock.   All are invited to this family-friendly show!!

 

PURIM CARNIVAL

11:30 – 1:30 p.m.

·             Games, moonwalk, bungee run, Velcro wall         

·             Petting zoo to visit, goldfish to win

·             Cotton candy, hamantaschen, popcorn and pizza

·             Raffle with prizes and fun for all ages.

        The Purim Carnival is sponsored by CLEFTY, CLEveland Fairmount Temple Youth group.  Proceeds benefit Fairmount Temple's youth programs. 

 

This carnival is open to all and is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Fairmount Temple .

 

Fairmount Temple’s Adult Trip to Israel, April 22—May 2, 2012

Plans are underway for an adult trip to Israel next spring led by Rabbi Robert Nosanchuk. Interested?  Click here for a detailed flyer about the Trip.
