LIBRARY

The
Arthur J. Lelyveld Center for Jewish Learning, which celebrated its 20th
Anniversary in 5767, includes the Sam and Emma
Miller Library for adults and the Celia Smith Rogovin Children's Library.
Incorporating 15,000 books, a growing collection of audiovisual materials and
subscriptions to more than 60 periodicals, it is one of the largest synagogue
libraries in the country. The Library is open to congregants and the community
at large free of charge. The Library, which is open when the building is open..

The Librarian encourages close cooperation with the Religious School in the
creation and implementation of projects involving students. Classroom visits to
the Library occur on a regular basis and Library materials are available for use
in the classroom. The Librarian and her staff prepare special bibliographies
and/or collections of materials to support research for students of all ages.
They also provide research and displays to supplement a wide variety of
synagogue
programs.
