Anshe
Chesed Fairmount Temple offers a variety of Shabbat experiences to give voice to
the varied sounds of prayer in our community. Experience the spirituality of
Shabbat with family and friends, while instilling or reinforcing an appreciation
of Judaism. Shabbat affords us an opportunity for worship, for study, for
prayer, and reflection on what is most precious in our lives. You are invited to the Shabbat experience that speaks to you.
These services are open to all. If you would like to learn more about
Fairmount Temple and are interested in becoming part of this
synagogue-community, call us at 216-464-1330.
Shabbat Evening Service
Every Friday Evening
6:15 p.m.
The second Friday of each month is a Kabbalat Shabbat with contemporary
music in a spirited, informal environment and is followed by a hot'n'hearty
oneg (or cool'n'crispy in the summer!).
KIDushat Shabbat
First Friday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
This 45-minute service is especially inviting to young families with
preschool-age children. It's very interactive, fun and a wonderful way to introduce
Anshe Chesed's next generation to the joy and celebration of Shabbat.
Chevrei Tikva Shabbat
Third Friday of each month at 8 p.m.
All are welcome to participate in Chevrei Tikva Chavurah, which has special
outreach to Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Jews, their families and
friends. This is a welcoming community celebrating Shabbat and the service
is open to all.
NEW - Shabbat Unplugged
Held several
times a year, come experience this casual, come-as-you-are, camp-style
Shabbat Service!
NEW - Shabbat with the Congregational Band
This year, Fairmount Temple is thrilled to welcome an all-vounteer
Congregational Band who take part in the Friday Shabbat Service the
fourth Friday of the month at 6:15 p.m.
Shabbat Torah Study and Minyan
Every Saturday Morning
Enhance your understanding of the Torah, or take the time to learn
something new. Torah study, led by the distinguished educator Dr. Alan D. Bennett,
is offered every Saturday and begins at 9:15 a.m., followed at 10:30 a.m. by an informal
participatory Minyan in the Lelyveld Center for Jewish Learning.
Shabbat Morning Service
Every Saturday morning
The Shabbat Morning Service at either 10:30 a.m. or at 9:15 a.m. and 11:00
a.m. on Saturdays, with Torah at its
center, is an opportunity to learn and pray, together, followed by a kiddush.
If you are homebound or ill and are unable to attend Shabbat Evening or
Morning Service, you can listen to the Service live over your telephone.

All are welcome to join us as we open to the doors to Jewish Life…to
Shabbat…together!
