Brotherhood

Brotherhood Events for This Year

Sunday Forums

On several Sunday mornings during the year (and occasionally on a Sunday evening), the Brotherhood hosts a Sunday Forum featuring prominent local speakers on a wide-range of topics, from science to music. These talks are free and open to all. RSVPs are not needed. Come join us in Weinberg Hall for a Sunday Forum. Watch for a new series to begin in the fall!

Mitzvah Corps
One Shabbat Afternoon a Month - Saturdays at 2:00 p.m.

While the Brotherhood coordinates this group of volunteers - all are encouraged to participate by spending some time with the residents of Montefiore and enjoying some entertainment.  To find out more about volunteering for an hour or two, call Nancy Tenenbaum at 216-464-1330, ext. 104. Families are invited and encouraged to be part of this mitzvah opportunity the first Saturday of each month.

BROTHERHOOD
Men of all generations are invited to be become active members of the Fairmount Temple Brotherhood. This group of men fill many important roles within the congregation through a variety of social, religious, cultural and educational activities. They sponsor the Sunday Morning Forum series featuring an array of distinguished speakers; special events, and social functions. During Chanukah, the Brotherhood distributes menorahs to first graders in the Religious School and during Pesach they host a popular Interfaith Seder which allows members of other faiths to learn more about the meaning of Pesach.

Through its affiliation with the Jewish Chautauqua Society, the educational arm of the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods, the Fairmount Temple Brotherhood supports interfaith understanding and education on college campuses. The Brotherhood Mitzvah Corps holds monthly social programs with entertainment and refreshments for the residents at the Montefiore Home. The membership also supports Fairmount Temple and other Constituent groups in their many special programs.

Brotherhood Offices are: Joel Grodin, President;  Sheldon Braverman, VP of Programs, Bob Gutner, VP of Membership; Mort Hoicowitz, Corresponding Secretary; and Jon Rogen, Treasurer, Barry Jacobs, Recording Secretary, .  To contact any of these officers, or more learn about becoming a Brotherhood member, contact Nancy Tenenbaum at Fairmount Temple at 216-464-1330, ext. 180, or e-mail at NTenenbaum@fairmounttemple.org
