Brotherhood Events for This Year
Sunday Forums
On several Sunday mornings
during the year (and occasionally on a Sunday evening), the Brotherhood
hosts a Sunday Forum featuring prominent local speakers on a wide-range
of topics, from science to music. These talks are free and open to all.
RSVPs are not needed. Come join us in Weinberg Hall for a Sunday Forum.

Come Hear from the Plain Dealer Editor
Susan Goldberg, Editor
of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, will talk about how Cleveland's daily
newspaper makes a difference.
Sunday, April 25, 10 a.m. with Brian Amkraut, Provost at Siegal College
of Judaic Studies. Meeting opens at 9 a.m. with the
Brotherhood Annual Meeting, with bagels at 9:30 a.m. and the speaker at
10 a.m. All are welcome.

Swingin’ at the Temple
This
Cleveland Jazz Orchestra concert is a
Tribute to Jewish Composers
and will be held at Fairmount Temple. Co-sponsored by the Brotherhood and
Sisterhood, this special concert will feature Helen Welch (who has sung at
Fairmount Temple before), along with the Jazz Orchestra performing a variety
of classics and jazz standards from America’s greatest Jewish composers.

Mitzvah Corps
One Shabbat Afternoon a Month - Saturdays at 2:00 p.m.
While the Brotherhood coordinates this group of volunteers - all
are encouraged to participate by spending some time with the residents of
Montefiore and enjoying some entertainment. To find out more about
volunteering for an hour or two, call Nancy Tenenbaum at 216-464-1330, ext. 180.
Families are invited and encouraged to be part of this mitzvah opportunity the
first Saturday of each month. .
BROTHERHOOD
Men of all generations are invited to be become active members of the
Fairmount Temple Brotherhood. This group of men fill many important roles
within the congregation through a variety of
social, religious, cultural and educational activities. They sponsor the Sunday
Morning Forum series featuring an array of distinguished speakers; special events, and social functions.
During Chanukah, the Brotherhood distributes menorahs to first graders in
the Religious School and during Pesach they host a
popular Interfaith Seder which allows members of other faiths to learn more
about the meaning of Pesach.
Through its
affiliation with the Jewish Chautauqua Society,
the educational arm of the
National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods, the Fairmount Temple Brotherhood
supports interfaith understanding and education on college campuses. The
Brotherhood Mitzvah Corps holds monthly social programs with entertainment and
refreshments for the residents at
the Montefiore Home. The membership also supports Fairmount Temple and other
Constituent groups in their many special programs.
