If Not Now, When?: Our Blog

On May 18, 2012, in Uncategorized, by Leah Weiss Caruso

“If Not Now, When?”

Our new Anshe Chesed blog takes its name from one of three questions posed by Rabbi Hillel centuries ago. The other two questions were: “If I am not for myself, who will be for me?” and “If I am only for myself, what am I?”

To all of us at Anshe Chesed, “If Not Now, When?” raises the need to speak and act with urgency. It is our hope that all who encounter this blog will be inspired to Jewish activism. Yet the open-ended nature of all Rabbi Hillel’s questions raises to us another value we hope to express here. We are a proud Reform Jewish synagogue, and in this blog we will share diverse points of view, in a spirit of respect and kindness, and with the desire to grow our connection to our Jewish heritage.
